A future in which Indian civilizational thought is recognised globally as a serious, sophisticated source of design language — not folklore, not nostalgia.
What we believe
Indian civilization holds an immense body of visual, philosophical, and cultural thought. We believe these ideas can be explored through contemporary design without reducing them to decoration, nostalgia, or costume.
Our ambition is to reinterpret these ideas with curiosity and restraint, creating clothing that feels natural in the present while remaining connected to where the ideas came from.
Beyond clothing
Rooted in Bharat is not intended to remain only a clothing label. Over time, we want the work to contribute to a broader recognition of Indian civilization as a sophisticated source of contemporary design language.
Each collection is an opportunity to research, question, reinterpret, and translate an idea into something that can be lived with every day.
Where we're going
First — build the foundation
Begin with clothing and earn trust through thoughtful research, original design, product quality, and accessible pricing.
Then — deepen the work
Expand the design language across new categories while building a research journal, collaborations with artists and craftspeople, and a stronger body of cultural storytelling.
Eventually — build the institution
Create a living archive of Indian visual culture, patterns, history, and ideas; collaborate with historians and cultural institutions; and build spaces that inspire people to explore rather than simply sell to them.
The goal is bigger than any single collection. We want to leave behind a body of work that makes people curious about where they come from, and gives Indian ideas a place in the visual language of the future.
